Black and Indigenous birthing people, in what is now considered the United States, are 3-5x more likely to die from childbirth related complications due to medical racism. These numbers are significantly worse for openly queer and trans families. We see a hugely positive impact on these statistics when families have access to culturally matched doula support. Healers and birth workers of culture have been carrying this movement since before it was colonized by western medicine. Revolutionary Birthworker Training
Birth Revolution is a Black, trans, and queer led birthwork training and consulting organization. Our birthworker training is community based and socially aware. We strive to educate students about the injustices facing birthing people while keeping Black, Brown, queer, and trans joy at the center. We equip students with evidence-based information, ancestral knowledge, and actionable ways to transform birth outcomes and build community in the birth world and beyond.
This training is for people who want to become birthworkers, established birthworkers looking to further their education, and anyone interested in anti-racism as it relates to reproductive justice.
